2025.06.10

June 7, 2024, The Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University has officially opened its 2025 Undergraduate Graduation Exhibition to the public. The exhibition will run until June 19.

A Historic Milestone: Undergraduate Works Debut at National First-Class Museum

The exhibition is currently on display across multiple floors of the Tsinghua University Art Museum:

·1F: Galleries 1, 2, 3

·2F: Gallery 4

·3F: Galleries 5, 6

·4F: Galleries 7, 8, 14

Featuring over 1,600 works by 260+ graduates from the Departments of Textile & Fashion Design, Ceramic Design, Visual Communication, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Craft Art, Information Art & Design, Painting, and Sculpture, the exhibition showcases AAD’s exceptional educational achievements and serves as a pioneering example of “New Liberal Arts” reform in China’s art education landscape.

For the first time, all undergraduate works are collectively displayed in a top-tier national museum, openly accessible to the public, an innovative approach to social engagement and knowledge-sharing in art education. Through immersive and diverse artistic exchanges, visitors can explore the creative process, witness raw artistic expression, and engage with the intellectual perspectives of young creators.

Art-Science Synergy: Redefining Boundaries

Beyond being a showcase of undergraduate accomplishments, the exhibition reflects the vitality of China’s evolving art education ecosystem, celebrating the essence of originality in artistic practice. Many works embody the fusion of “art-science integration and interdisciplinary innovation.”

Emerging artists boldly experiment with AI, digital media, traditional craftsmanship, and tactile artistry, conducting dual explorations in materials and conceptual frameworks. Through interactive technology, digital heritage, bio-design, and other cutting-edge methods, they embrace cross-disciplinary perspectives and trans-temporal thinking. Selected exhibition zones feature a “Creative Process” section, revealing technical drafts, user research, and data models to illustrate the methodology of art-science convergence.

By bridging digital innovation with cultural heritage, these works respond to contemporary issues, melding technology with humanity, perception with rationality. Visitors will experience the dynamic interplay between “digital pixels and handmade warmth, traditional craftsmanship and youthful vision”, unlocking infinite creative possibilities.

A Visual Manifesto: Society, Nation, and Human Spirit

The exhibition highlights both the forefront of Chinese art education and the vigor of a new generation. Themes range from social realities, national development, and public welfare to deeply personal narratives, affirming humanistic values and generational continuity amid technological transformation, a vivid embodiment of Tsinghua’s “Values-Cultivation-Ability-Knowledge” educational philosophy.

We invite you to pause, observe, and reflect, immersing yourself in these passionate visual statements. Witness how the next wave of creative minds armed with youthful vision, sketches the aesthetic awakening of our era.
