Academic Philosophy
In art historical research, Dr. Liu integrates traditional approaches (craft studies, stylistic analysis, iconography) with methodologies from social art history and psychological art history. This framework interprets images across eras as concrete manifestations of personal/collective memory and imagination, and as expressions of epochal perceptions of nature and society. Through investigating their formation mechanisms, dissemination patterns, and historical obscurity/reemergence, her work deciphers the multi-layered information embedded in visual culture.
In museum studies, her focus centers on exhibition interpretation within curatorial practice, emphasizing the design, writing, and communication of public educational content.
