Academic Claims
Traditional crafts and arts should be studied starting from their inherent characteristics, current status, and development trends, focusing on comprehensive research in areas such as the update of design concepts, innovation in craft techniques, reform in talent cultivation, and exploration of new trends in the industrial market. By comprehensively considering factors such as design concepts, craft techniques, talent cultivation, and the industrial market, the research aims to explore an overall approach for the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional crafts and arts, to ensure the synergistic development of these factors, and jointly promote the contemporary development and innovation of traditional crafts and arts.

Teaching
Centered around Tsinghua University’s overall goal of talent cultivation, he keeps exploring ways to cultivate students through a “three-pronged approach” that integrates the imparting of knowledge, development of skills, and shaping of values, trying to build an interdisciplinary knowledge structure, foster critical thinking skills, and nurture a well-rounded personality.
In the past five years, under the guidance of the aforementioned principles, he has completed a total of 50 undergraduate and graduate-level courses, amounting to 2,752 class hours. These courses include Fundamentals of Metal Technology, Introduction to Metal Arts, Comprehensive Material Design, Metal Mural Design, Metalwork Design, Patterns and Decoration, Metal Casting Design, Metal Casting Art, Metal Casting Craft, Casting Art, Modern Decoration Art, Social Practice, Metal Art, Comprehensive Training, Professional Investigation, Comprehensive Thesis Training and Graduation Design, Decorative Sculpture, and Professional Practice, among others.
