Localization and Contemporaneity in Painting

Artistic Philosophy

1.Over the past two decades, dedicated to creative practice, teaching, and theoretical research on integrating modern and contemporary painting with traditional Chinese culture. Exploring re-interpretations of traditional Chinese art from contemporary multi-dimensional perspectives, incorporating modern and contemporary artistic language while drawing from traditional cultural roots. Advocating for Chinese contemporary art to emphasize "historical depth and multi-layered meaning," and exploring visual artistic language with distinct contemporary Chinese characteristics.

2.Emphasizing the establishment of educational and creative methodologies suitable for the development of Chinese contemporary visual art. Focusing on the value orientation of Chinese contemporary art in domestic and international contexts, investigating the cultural distinctiveness and developmental trajectories of Chinese and Western painting, as well as their reconstructed relationships in cultural context, medium, and national identity. Encouraging students to value tradition, engage with reality, integrate contemporary trends, pursue cross-cultural synthesis, and foster innovative painting talents with contemporary Chinese humanistic connotations.
