Research on Media and Language in Contemporary Printmaking

Academic Claims

We should ground our practice in the rich history of printmaking and the forefront of contemporary academic discourse, exploring the potential of printmaking within the current artistic context through diverse creative practices. On the one hand, it is essential to inherit and develop the traditional visual language of printmaking by integrating media, materials, and techniques with digital technologies and interdisciplinary research approaches, thereby achieving both fusion and innovation in contemporary printmaking.  On the other hand, we must transcend the limitations of disciplinary boundaries, incorporating printmaking media and formal language into broader contemporary art practices to advance the development of the printmaking discipline.

Academic Achievements

His works have been featured in over 30 high-level academic exhibitions both in China and internationally, with more than 20 pieces collected by prominent academic institutions worldwide. He has published over 30 papers and artworks in core journals at home and abroad, authored two solo art collections, co-authored one exhibition catalog, and contributed to one textbook. He has led one national-level research project, participated in a key project commissioned by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and served as a principal contributor to six additional research projects. In addition, he has curated and organized three academic conferences and exhibitions.
