Academic Claims

1. The spirit of an object reveals its unique essence - something that is invisible and intangible. Whether it’s tea ware, dinnerware, or flower vases, these objects should showcase their distinct beauty and character in the spaces we live in. Wu Haoyu has always worked to develop his style and identity while building a framework of Eastern thought.

2. We should approach ceramic art creation from a broader perspective, exploring its inherent language and diverse forms of expression. The blurred lines between art, design, and ceramics open up more possibilities for ceramic creation. It’s crucial to break free from outdated ideologies and rethink the underlying logic of ceramic creation. By moving beyond traditional visual experiences, we can discover entirely new ways of seeing the world.

3. Theories and methods of ceramic art have their limitations, and their true meaning is realized through individual understanding. Teaching is what allows this knowledge to be shared, and the true value of ceramic education lies in its power to inspire and spread knowledge.

Academic Achievements

His works have been featured in numerous international and domestic exhibitions, including Art Basel Miami Beach (USA), the London Design Festival (UK), the Icheon International Ceramic Biennale (South Korea), the Venice Biennale (Parallel Exhibitions), JingArt, Beijing Design Week, Design Shanghai, and Tianjin International Design Week.
