As the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War approaches, the newly renovated Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression has officially reopened, with the war-themed works by Professor Wang Tieniu from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, serving as a major highlight of this reopening.

In the Northeast Anti-Japanese War exhibition area, Professor Wang Tieniu’s recently completed oil painting, “General Yang Jingyu,” has garnered considerable attention. It stands in powerful resonance with his father, Mr. Wang Shenglie’s, “Eight Women Throwing Themselves into the River,” displayed less than ten meters away. This unique arrangement allows the works of both father and son to converge across time and space on a national memorial platform. This is profoundly demonstrating Wang Tieniu’s inheritance and continuation of his father’s spirit in the creation of war-themed art.

Furthermore, in other exhibition areas, two works completed by Wang Tieniu and Wang Junrui twenty years ago, “The Eighth Route Army Crossing the Yellow River Eastward” and “The Air Battle over Wuhan”, are also once again on public display. In total, three of Wang Tieniu’s war-themed historical paintings are exhibited at the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. These three works vividly portray important scenes from the history of the War of Resistance from different perspectives, enabling audiences to more deeply experience that period of history through his art.
