The Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University’s has secured multiple project grants under the China National Arts Fund (CNAF) 2025 General Program, as announced by the fund’s management center following rigorous expert reviews and approvals.
The state-backed CNAF, established to advance artistic innovation, cultivate talent, and promote cultural excellence nationwide, recognized four faculty-led initiatives across disciplines:
Regional Collaboration Initiative: Academy Party Committee Secretary Prof. Qin Chuan will lead "Site-Specific Joint Creation Program for Arts Institutions Across Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region", funded under the Art Organization Creation Program.
AI-Driven Cultural Heritage Training: Prof. Wu Qiong from the Department of Information Art and Design spearheads "Generative AI Application Design Training for the Cultural Heritage Sector", selected under Art Talent Training Programs.
Emerging Craft Artistry: Assistant Prof. Zang Jie (Department of Textile & Fashion Design) received a Young Artists Creation Talent Grant for craft innovation.
Associate Prof. Wang Wei (Department of Painting)’s "Portraits of Century-Legacy Cultural Icons", and Associate Prof. Feng Chongli (Department of Sculpture) advances Sculpture "Bamboo Rhythm", both selected under Individual Artistic Projects.
The projects reflect Tsinghua’s interdisciplinary ethos, merging cutting-edge technology with traditional mediums while addressing regional cultural synergies.
