Recently, the China Scientometrics and Bibliometrics Research Center of CNKI announced the pre-release list of "2024 CNKI Highly Cited Scholars." Fang Xiaofeng, Chen Anying, Hang Jian, Sheng Wei, Liu Xin, Fu Zhiyong, Liu Guanzhong, Zhao Chao, Tang Lintao, Yan Yang, and Zhou Zhi, among others, from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University have been included in the top 1% of highly cited scholars. Additionally, Lu Xiaobo, Chen Chiyu, Qiu Song, Song Wenwen, and Xiang Fan have made the top 5% list. The research directions of the selected scholars cover various vital fields, including art theory, design innovation, and cultural heritage conservation.

In 2024, the China Scientometrics and Bibliometrics Research Center of CNKI conducted its inaugural objective evaluation of scholars' academic influence. Based on domestic academic journal articles and conference papers indexed by CNKI over the past decade (2014-2023), the evaluation employed the Paper Citation Standardized Index (PCSI) as the metric. Following preliminary preparations such as quantitative data analysis, expert review of selection criteria, and disciplinary expert surveys, the "2024 CNKI Highly Cited Scholars" list was compiled. Among approximately 3.35 million authors eligible nationwide, only 30,000 scholars made it to the TOP 1% (with a baseline value of 31.016), and 89,000 scholars to the TOP 5% (with a baseline value of 10.297). To be selected, scholars had to meet criteria including a total PCSI for papers published in the past decade exceeding the baseline, with no fewer than five eligible papers, and at least one high-impact paper.

This evaluation result is a recognition of the academic influence of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. It will encourage the academy to continue adhering to the concept of integrating art and science, strive to serve economic and social development, urban and rural planning and construction, and meet the high-quality life needs of the people, making greater contributions to the prosperity and development of art and culture in the new era.。
