Fundamentals of Design by Instructor Chen Nan is a required by course for sophomores of the Department of Visual Communication at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. This course aims to help students understand the basic concepts, terms, and related knowledge of design, and teach them how to make use of literature to improve creative thinking and acquire design methods and skills. It also give students an idea of the evaluation systems and criteria for high-quality works and the trends of design.
In the online course, Instructor Chen also shares a variety of things he has done during the epidemic, such as creative design, painting, woodcarving, and writing. All these increase the students' enthusiasm for design, inspiring them to find fun and lead a fulfilling life in times of uncertainty.
