Comments from Students

He Xinyi: This course allows me to get the charm of the ancient art of tie dyeing. Sometimes, you may fail to achieve the desired effect after submerging a piece of fabric in the dye bath. At such times, I recommend you try tie dyeing. You may be surprised. We make progress through trial and error and create unexpected artistic works in the meantime.

Liao Yixie: The beauty of tie dyeing lies in accidentality. Different colors, different tying methods, and different auxiliary tools can produce completely different visual effects.

Ning Xuchen: Although trying tie dyeing at home is much more difficult than working in the studio, we can share the fun with our parents. This course offers us an opportunity to learn this ancient craft and apply what we have learned in our daily life. Every tie-dye work is unique.

Yan Ziqi: It is important for designers to keep up with date. Traditional dyeing requires patience and can produce exquisite patterns in an unexpected way. Time stops when I dye fabric in a traditional way. It makes me feel calm.
