On May 30, 2020, Chinese artist Mr. Li Xiangqun won “Heatherley School of Fine Art Prize” at FACE 2020: 56th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Portrait Sculptors in London, England for his work Wang Shenglie. He is the first Asian artist to take home this award since it was established.
It is reported that the highly competitive Annual Exhibition of the Society of Portrait Sculptors is organized by the British Society of Portrait Sculptors, which is an international exhibition in the field of realistic sculpture. Mr. Li Xiangqun participated in the 2006 Annual Exhibition of the Society of Portrait Sculptors and gained the “Pangolin Award” for his sculpture Beauty of Mountain. At the 48th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Portrait Sculptors in 2011, his work Mo Wei was rated as the best portrait sculpture and gained the highest award, Freakley Prize. The year 2020 witnesses the third award for him, an Asian artist, at this exhibition.
