On Dec. 8th, 2015, led by Chairman of the Board Mr. Laurent MAX STARKMAN, delegation with five members of Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts visited the Academy. Deputy Dean of the Academy Mr. MA Sai, Director of the office of International Cooperation and Exchange Dr. ZANG Yingchun met with the guests.

Mr. Laurent MAX STARKMAN was just appointed to be the Chairman of Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts by the French Ministry of Culture in the second half of this year. He has committed to building the institution of over three hundred years of history into a more open and inclusive art place. For this visit, he sincerely hoped to start the cooperation between two institutions. Mr. Laurent MAX STARKMAN expressed his willingness to recommend his friends and colleagues to visit the Academy and also welcomed artists of the Academy to visit their institution and studios by the River Seine. He had an open mind about the future cooperation of two institutions not only through faculty and student exchange, but also joint exhibitions etc. He hoped he could have another chance to visit the Art Museum, when it’s open to the public.

Deputy Dean Mr. MA Sai passed Dean Prof. LU Xiaobo’s greeting to Mr. Laurent MAX STARKMAN. Last year, Prof. LU has visited Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, which gave him a very deep impression and he personally has great expectation about promoting the cooperation between the two institutions. Mr. MA introduced the basic information of the Academy and former collaboration with Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He felt sorry about the discontinuation of former collaboration, but on today’s new platform, he believed that both sides could give full play to both sides’ advantages, find new programs suited to the era and open a new chapter of top-level international higher education cooperation and exchange.
