On May 5th, 2016, Mr. QIU Guanzhong, young design engineer from the Design Office of Dyson, Singapore gave a talk to 40 students from Dept. of Industrial Design, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. He talked about the Dyson Cool Fan and Vacumm, which are famous for the fantastic combination of design and engineering. Then he shared his experience of transformation from a student to a design engenieer. Dr. ZHAO Chao, Director of Industrial Design Department hosted the talk.

Sir James Dyson delivered an invitation to the students by video, and encouraged them to participate in the James Dyson Award. The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. The Award is open to design engineering students or fresh graduates from around 22 countries and regions. This year is the first time it’s open to Mainland, China.
