On Feb. 23th, Prof. Ferruccio Resta, Vice Rector for China Prof. Giuliano Noci from Politecnico di Milano and fellows visited the Academy.

Dean Prof. LU Xiaobo, Chairman of Academy Council LI Gongqiang, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Dr. ZANG Yingchun accompanied the delegation to visit several representative art spaces of the Academy, such as Chinese Painting Studio, Engraving Art Studio, Tapestry Art Lab, Department of Ceramic Design, Transportation Design Lab, Color & Imagine Institute, Photography Lab, Boeing Lab, Metal Art Studio and Clay Sculpture Lab. During the tour, department directors or studio faculties gave introductions to the delegation. After the visit, Rector Resta said this was a very impressive visit, and he could feel the power of co-development of tradition and innovation. He is more looking forward to see the bright future of Sino-Italian Design Innovation Hub of the two universities.

Background: On the afternoon of 22nd Feb, witnessed by Chinese President XI Jinping and Italian President Sergio Mattarella, QIU Yong, President of Tsinghua University and Ferrucio Resta, President of Politecnico di Milano signed the agreement in Great Hall of the People, to establish Sino-Italian Design Innovation Hub in Milan, Italy. It will be Tsinghua’s first educational research base in Europe, exemplifying the advancement of the university’s global strategy.
