On May 8, 2018, the work of Yang Ling, graduate student of 2017 in the Department of Visual Communication Design—2017 Universal Declaration Of Human Rights (instructor: Professor Zhao Jian) won the 2018 New York ADC Annual Awards: bronze cube of Young Ones.

2018 New York ADC Annual Awards have three categories: design, illustration& photography, motion and digital. There are 14 gold, 16 silver and 38 bronze cubes for students. There were over 400 entries from 71 colleges in 17 countries.

New York ADC award started in 1921, with a history of 97 years. It is one of the most famous international design events with the longest history. Each year, tens of thousands of excellent designers are attracted by this event and its entries cover all areas of creative design. The mission of the organizer—ADC (Art Director Club) is to promote the perfection and faithfulness of visual communication and to encourage scholars and young designers to participate. The selected works cover different cultural and creative areas, such as advertising, graphic, digital media, packaging, environmental design and photography.
