On the morning of 4 July 2018, exhibition of the third edition of Global Innovation Design Master Program (GID) run by Tsinghua University's Academy of Arts & Design, Royal College of Art and Imperial College London was successfully held. The third edition of GID was presented by professors from multiple departments of Tsinghua University’s Academy of Arts & Design. Meanwhile, teachers from relevant schools and departments, such as School of Medicine and Department of Computer Science and Technology as well as professors from overseas design institutes also participated in the teaching activity. Ten graduates of GID program of Royal College of Art and Imperial College London as well as over 20 graduates from Tsinghua University took the 3-month innovation design courses of GID. GID program of this edition included five courses: Interaction Design for Cultural Experience, Design Management and Strategy, CMF Research and Healthcare Design Application, Sustainable Design and Multidisciplinary Design.

In the opening ceremony, Professor Lu Xiaobo, dean of Tsinghua University's Academy of Arts & Design, said GID program is one of the important measures of the Academy’s international strategy to make it one of the top design schools in the world. This program brings together superior resources in design, culture and industry from both Asia (Tsinghua University in China) and Europe (Royal College of Art and Imperial College London). It aims at creating a unique and high-level cultivation mode for cross-cultural and multidisciplinary design talents, exploring a new mode for cultivation of leading innovative designers with interdisciplinary background of art and science, international vision, as well as the capability to contribute Chinese wisdom.
