At 10:00 pm local time on July 11, 2018, final result of the "2018 ISKO I-SKOOL the international denim contest" was unveiled in Milan. Winners of the design and marketing awards were selected from the 20 finalists from the world's top design schools. Cheng Zhuolin, undergraduate student from Tsinghua University's Academy of Arts & Design instructed by Professor Li Wei, won the second place (product name: Distant Steps): BEST DENIM SHOWPIECE AWARD. This is the first time for a Chinese contestant to win awards in such an important international contest. In addition, four graduates, Chen Xingying, Zhong Yan, Ren Chanjuan, and Bi Ran, entered the top 12 for the first time on behalf of China.

I-SKOOL, an international denim contest focusing on creativity and marketability, sets up the Design Award and Marketing Award. It aims at promoting creative design and R&D of denim fabric, as well as application and marketing of the downstream value chain.

Students from about 30 top academies like the Parson's School of Design, Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and Instituto Marangoni participated in this I-SKOOL international denim contest. Among these academies, nine colleges were from China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). In the end, twenty finalists from 16 top design academies of eight countries reached the final round. Our student winning the award shows that the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University has reached international level in terms of education quality.
