On July 5th, 2018, the 2018 Graduation Ceremony of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University was held in the auditorium of Tsinghua University. More than 500 graduate students attended the graduation ceremony with excitement and anticipation. The atmosphere around the auditorium was warm and filled with achievements and farewells.
Dean of the Academy, Prof. LU Xiaobo, Chairperson of the Academy Council Prof. MA Sai, Chairperson of the Academic Degree Committee Prof. ZHANG Gan, Vice Chairperson of the Degree Committee, Deputy Dean Prof. ZENG Chenggang, Chairperson of the Academic Council Prof. SHANG Gang, Deputy Chairperson of the Academy Council Ms. ZOU Xin, Deputy Dean Prof. YANG Dongjiang, Prof. FANG Xiaofeng, Prof. ZHAO Chao, alumni representatives, PSA Group Asia R&D Center Peugeot (China) , department directors, faculty, graduates and their families, in total around 700 people attended the graduation ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. WU Qiong, Prof. LU Xiaobo, Prof. MA Sai, Prof. ZHANG Gan, Prof. ZENG Chenggang, Prof. SHANG Gang, directors of departments (room), faculty representative Prof. LI Wei, and alumni representative Mr. GONG Fengyou were seated on the rostrum.

After the graduate students’ name list were announced by directors of departments respectively, they watched video specially made for the graduates. The faculty and students sent the sincerest blessing to them. Crystal columns embedded with the logo of the Academy were given the graduate students as graduation gift. On the base of crystal column, emblem of Tsinghua University was printed; and on the surface of the column, students’ name and student number was engraved. There was also an Academy emblem made of metal on the crystal column, which can be taken off and pinned on the clothes. This is a gift to remind the graduate students to carry on the tradition and spirit of the Academy, to always love art, love life, adhere to their artistic ideals, and never forget why they started.
At the end of the ceremony, five graduate students sang two farewell songs for the graduates, with a long "farewell" and a brisk "good-bye" touching everyone in the auditorium. Accompanied by the song, green and white balloons slowly fell down and banners with graduation message hung down. Graduate students were surprised and stood up, sang together.
The excitement and joy of graduation, the sadness of parting, mingled in the auditorium at this moment. On the stage, graduates from the chorus sent flowers to the faculty seated on the stage, to express appreciation for their teaching and guidance.
