In April 2019, Tsinghua University celebrated its 108th Anniversary. The President of Tsinghua University, Qiu Yong, announced the goal of this year: "to build a more open and confident Tsinghua". As a part of Tsinghua, the Academy of Arts and Design organized several activities to celebrate Tsinghua’s birthday.
Project MOJA is a Chinse style robotic band that was developed by the Academy of Arts and Design and the Future Laboratory of Tsinghua University. MOJA gave a performance called “the phantom of MOJA” on April 27th – 28th, in C515, Tsinghua Art Building. The three robotic members of the band played traditional Chinese musical instruments – the bamboo flute, Chinese harp and set drum. They are named after the stars of the Big Dipper – Alioth the Jade (Yuheng), Alkaid the Light (Yaoguang) and Mizar the Sun (Kaiyang).


The Tsinghua Alumni Association Academy of Arts and Design branch held three activities to welcome the alumni during the anniversary celebration. Based on photography, Chinese calligraphy and children’s artistic education, lectures were given by Tsinghua alumni from different departments.
The topic of the photography lecture was "Skills in Taking Portrait Photos", which was hosted by Wang Xiaoyan and Wang Xiaotian.


Fang Fang, the host of "Embracing the Beauty of Calligraphy", introduced Chinese calligraphy masters.

The children artistic educating course “Panting & Conversation” was taught by Du Yuhua and Qian Yu.
