On September 21, 2019, the Qiu Shi Science and Technology Foundation of Hong Kong, in co-operation with Tsinghua University, held the 25th Qiu Shi award ceremony at the Meng Minwei concert hall of Tsinghua University. Commissioned by the University and the Foundation, the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University, took charge of designing the overall vision for the ceremony.

Led by Professor Ma Sai and Assistant Professor Chen Luoqi from the Academy of Arts and Design, the design team completed the vision and ceremony design by conducting research on the entire internal and external space of Meng Minwei Hall. Professor Ma Sai suggested the design team should make full use of existing venue characteristics, which meanwhile carry the transformation of artistic design. Chen also specifically chose the classic sundial as the visual element on behalf of Tsinghua University. By showing the original 24 numbers on the sundial’s scale, he referred to the past 24 sessions of the award.
