June,27-July,1,2015, Dean Prof. LU Xiaobo, Director of the office of International Cooperation and Exchange Dr. ZANG Yingchun and Director of Dept. of Industrial Design Dr. ZHAO Chao visited universities in UK, including Royal College of Arts, Imperial College London and Anglia Ruskin University.
On June 29th, the delegation met professors from RCA and ICL, discussed the details of GID Programme (Global Innovation Design Programme) ,and exchanged opinions of the option of the third-party university. Then they visited the graduate work exhibition of RCA along with some graduates.
On June 30th, the delegation investigated the facilities of ICL, including School of Design Engineering and the IDEAS Lab. Later Dean Prof. LU Xiaobo, Pro-Rector, Prof. Naren Barfield from RCA, Vice-Provost (Education), Prof. Debra Humphris from ICL signed the Student Exchange Agreement.
July 1st, the delegation visited one of the long-term partners, Anglia Ruskin University. The two institutions had a great number of faculty and student exchange during these years. The delegation discussed the relationship of research of Ruskin Theory System and the contemporary sustainable design. The two parties reached a cooperation intention of holding seminar and summer school.
During the visit, the delegation met the alumni studying in RCA, and ARU, and talked with them about the life in UK, especially the study and research which provided useful information for students to study in UK in the future.
Global Innovation Design Programme-GID is a international master’s degree programme which is co-organized by Royal College of Arts and Imperial College London. After graduation, the students can get Master’s Degree from the local institution and also the certificate of GID International Programme. All the institutions involved have advantages in academics and pedagogy, including design, business, technology, and engineering field. This programme gets the students into international innovation team to train innovative thinking mode.
