On Sept. 6th, 2015, Deputy Mayor of Gwangju, Korea, WOO Bomki, Dean of Graduate School of Techno Design, Kookmin University, Korea and General Director of Gwangju Design Biennial CHOI Kyungran, along with other fellows visited the Academy.
Deputy Dean Prof. SU Dan and Director of the office of International Cooperation and Exchange Dr. ZANG Yingchun met with the guests.
Deputy Mayor WOO Bomki said it was a great honor that the delegation from AADTHU decided to join the 2015 Gwangju Design Biennial and he appreciated the hard work that the Academy had done for the Biennial. As the Biennial is drawing near, the purpose of this visit is to discuss the details.
Deputy Dean Prof. SU Dan expressed warm welcome and acclaimed Gwangju Design Biennial as one of the leading arts & design exhibitions in Asia. He wished the 2015 Gwangju Design Biennial a success, and that top designers and artists in Asia could be inspired in this high-level academic platform.
After that, a seminar was held in A327. Deputy Dean SU Dan, Dean Assistant YANG Dongjiang, Head of Visual Art Center BAI Ming, Associate Professor of Environmental Design Department LIU Tiejun, Dean of Graduate School of China Central Academy of Fine Arts XU Ping, Vice Director of Environmental Design Department of Beijing University of Agriculture GAO Chenglin and the guests from Korea discussed the details of the exhibition. Professors from China introduced the projects designed for R&D Future Section and China, Japan, Korea Section respectively, which are two parts of the Biennial.
The 1st Gwangju Design Biennial was held 1995, in Gwangju. In 20 years, it has become a wide, dynamic and high-level exhibition.
