Research Focus
Animation Style Design
Investigates animation style design through diverse formats (3D, 2D, stop-motion) and global stylistic influences (European, American, Japanese). Integrates emerging technologies and platforms to explore existing and potential cultural representations of Chinese aesthetics in animation, with experimental outcomes primarily manifested in short films. Aims to develop animation styles rooted in Chinese cultural contexts and technical frameworks while meeting international artistic standards and aesthetic preferences.
Academic Philosophy
The fundamental challenge in Chinese animation lies in outdated creative paradigms. By analyzing the evolving philosophies, stylistic developments, and trends of Western and Japanese animation, this research identifies core cultural elements of Chinese animation and implements them across multiple platforms. Breaking through creative barriers is essential to resolving industrial and pedagogical challenges in the field.
