Academic Claims
In a broader sense, the essence of design concepts lies in offering effective solutions through a thorough exploration of a problem. In this light, contemporary art design has evolved far beyond its origins in decorative art. Future-oriented art design education encompasses four dimensions: art (aesthetics), science (technology), economics (market), and society (humanities). The core of this education is the humanities, with the market as the foundation, technology as the support, and art as the means of expression. Traditional designs that focus on decorative aesthetics must inevitably shift towards a more socially oriented approach to meet the evolving needs of society. Whether it’s traditional print media or modern electronic media, whether it’s single media or multimedia, and whether in visual style or design meaning, design is always in tune with the times, naturally carrying the essence of fashion. In the face of future challenges posed by artificial intelligence, the most essential skills for designers will be personalized craftsmanship, emotional intelligence, creative thinking, and the ability to think deeply. These are also the main challenges and focal points in today’s design education.
