Academic Philosophy
Since 2008, Professor Wang has focused on service design (Service Design) and corporate innovation strategies, engaging in interdisciplinary and cross-boundary innovation projects and extensive design practices and consulting activities. He has rich design experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, consumer electronics, communication products, and Internet service innovation. The future of design lies in the integration of information technology and Internet technology to serve a networked society and service economy. Research on innovation strategies combining "smart products + services" based on design thinking and organizational innovation strategies will be crucial areas for future design development. By combining teaching and practice, aligning international design trends with Chinese practices, and employing methods such as research studies, cross-cultural comparisons, and theoretical-practical integration, he seeks to develop new design methodology systems and promote the application of "Chinese originality" in industrial design, thereby profoundly impacting future design thinking and societal progress.
Academic Activities and Achievements
Building on product design teaching experience and design management consulting expertise, Professor Wang is deeply interested in the impact of information technology and social transformation on future product and service innovation. His recent research focuses on product-service systems (PSS), service design (Service Design), and the influence of design thinking (Design Thinking in Management) on corporate innovation capabilities. He has published numerous research reports and papers on topics such as Internet of Things and design opportunities, service innovation methods, family smart product-service systems, healthcare service experiences, smart building service systems, and e-commerce service systems.
