Research Focus
Spatial Value Research on the “Traditional to Modern” Transformation in Textile Art and Design
Academic Philosophy
The globalization of information has led to economic globalization, resulting in the integration of humanistic values and lifestyles due to economic activities and product consumption. This has brought people and designs closer together. At the same time, advancements in textile technology have led to a multidisciplinary trend in textile design, with expanding application fields and diminishing cultural “gaps.” However, the individuality of design languages remains crucial. Centered on the spatial value research of the “traditional to modern” transformation in textile art and design, this approach connects teaching, learning, application, and research. It delves deeply into Chinese cultural heritage, employing methods such as surveys, cross-cultural comparisons, analysis, and theoretical-practical integration to explore the relationships between textile art and design, art, technology, history, and the environment. By merging modern techniques with traditional culture, it promotes and fills the expressive space of Chinese cultural heritage in textile art and design, profoundly influencing future design culture and societal progress.
