The First Tsinghua Alumni New York Art Week in 2017 Was Held Successfully













On August 31, 2017, the “First Tsinghua Alumni New York Art Week in 2017” was successfully concluded in New York. It was sponsored by the Tsinghua University Alumni Association of the Great New York Area, co-organized by the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Princeton University (ACSSPU), and supported by the Chinese University Alumni Alliance in North America. It was of great importance as the first art week among the many alumni activities in North America.


45 alumni from China and the US participated in this art week. Though most of the participating artists were from the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, there were also EngSci alumni fond of art. Exhibited works included ceramics, painting, video, photography, installation, lacquer ware, sculpture, printmaking, interactive design, and dyed apparel design. Among the participating artists, there were not only respected professors of the elder generation from the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University, but also middle-aged and young artist representatives, alumni who just start their artistic careers, as well as art lovers, presenting the thoughts, courage and spirit of several generations of Tsinghua alumni, and their explorations under China’s modern art education system.
