Academic Proposition:

China’s ceramic art has rich cultural and spiritual implications, and should be researched and passed down so that they could enrich contemporary ceramic art.

Tradition and modernity can not be discussed separately. We should not ignore the traditional ceramic art, as it is the core subject that we must research. Confucianism thinks that we should study the nature of things to know the way the universe works, which is also the path for our teaching and academic research.

Chinese believe that knowledge makes a man, and it is the way to develop talents. The education of ceramic design is special, as teachers not only teach knowledge and skills, but also shape students’ characters. I think that the core ideology of modern art teaching is to reshape characters, to advocate humanistic ideas, to care about the nature, and to promote creativity.
